Bloomsburg Lacrosse Falls to Lock Haven

BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team lost to Lock Haven University, 21-7, on Wednesday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match-up.
Lock Haven scored two goals in the first eight minutes, but the Huskies fought back with a goal scored by Mary Chirichella (Petersburg, NJ/Ocean City). However, the Bald Eagles netted eight straight goals to take a 10-1 lead before Bloomsburg's Beth Stewart (Glenmoore/Downingtown) scored off an assist by Meg Taylor (West Chester/West Chester). Lock Haven would score one more before the end of the first half.
In the second half, Lock Haven scored three times in the first four minutes, but the Huskies fought back with goals by Allison McFatridge (Hatboro/Upper Moreland) and Cali Toms (Pottstown/Pottsgrove). The Bald Eagles would bring the score to 17-4, before Angie Picciotti (Chalfont/Central Bucks West) would score off a Taylor assist. Lock Haven put four more into the back of the net, while the Huskies' Taylor and Toms both scored with four minutes left to play.
In goal, Bridget Maenner (Philadelphia/Little Flower) had four saves, while Justine Coleman (Media/Penncrest) had one.
The Huskies fall to 3-4, 3-2 in the PSAC, and will be back in action at Shippensburg on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
